trainee plasterers case study flat rendering

Luke and Joss, Flat Rendering an extension on a bungalow,

Luke has been full time at Goldtrowel taking his City and Guilds course in solid plastering, one of the units for the City & Guilds course in solid plastering is for a Flat render float finish. You passed that unit No problem Luke
This is a good little flat render job for him to start with after the practice he's had down at Goldtrowel.

Joss has just completed his first week at Goldtrowel on his NVQ Plastering Course and because he drove down from Edinburgh he stayed down for the weekend and went along with Luke for the experience and also made a few quid.

top coat render to go over the scratch coat

<<<

Today Saturday 1st September 2007 Luke and Joss are going to be putting the top coat of render over the top of this scratch coat.

first they hosed down the wall so it was damp by the time they set up the mixer and sorted out there tools.

Then they tested an area to see what the suction (drying time was)

They checked the sun was at the back of the house so they started at the front working in the shade.
